‘One of the classical instrument’s most exciting rising stars’
The Scotsman

Review
by Jill Martin

I descend from Italian parentage so, in my mind, accordion music is most generally associated with Italian Folk Music.  La Tarantella was the most complex piece.  Ryan changed all that with his Classical Accordion. I never could have imagined the accordion sounding so different.  My ears were stunned in amazement and my mouth gawping in awe.  In Ryan’s hands, he made the instrument sing rich and organ-like sounds.

There were a wide range of tonal capabilitiies which I really hadn’t been expecting.  A famous French accordionist, Vincent Lhermet called an accordion “a Swiss Army knife of musical instruments”.  If his words are to be regarded with any merit, you could say that Ryan had mastered the miniature scissors to cut himself a Saville Row suit.  Brilliant!
