Gould Piano Trio & Robert Plane
27th March 2026
7.30pm
Robert Plane (clarinet) and the Gould Trio have been giving concerts, recording and touring together for thirty years.

That was just a wonderful, simply wonderful, concert.
Again, thoroughly enjoyable especially the Schubert. Congratulations on another fine season – already looking forward to next year!
Nice to hear a group of such high quality musicians enjoying their kinship which flowed through their music-making.
A wonderful concert with each combination of instruments superbly balanced as you would expect from one of the country’s leading ensembles
Excellent ensemble – mature music-making and splendid repertoire.
The Schubert Notturno nearly brought me to tears – exquisite!

Excellent and loved hearing the piano Trio music. Schubert piece was very special.
Tonight’s concert was an eclectic mix with a choice of four different instruments – they didn’t disappoint. Another excellent night.
What an impressive group of musicians! The music just flowed from their instruments to create such wonderful sounds.
The clarinet gave the Trio an additional dimension which enabled them to offer such a wide variety of pieces. The Schubert and the Ravel were particularly special.
Excellent sounds from the different combinations of instruments. A good variety of music throughout.
Loved all the pieces and it was interesting to hear the Hellawell which was specially written for the quartet – definitely different and one to re-visit, I think. Loved the audience participation aspect of it.
